There's an unexpected timeliness to Genesis Ch 25 where Esau, coming home tired and worn from a productive hunting day, trades his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of stew.

Inheritance is an important part of God's order and included in the birthright is boundaries of land, the property on it, and title of Lord over all of it.

I always thought it was an odd trade for Esau to make, but the last 40 years and longer for America has been trading that birthright to the lesser because "Well, if I didn't, then where will I get authentic (whatever ethnic) food?"
