I know we aren't supposed to talk about Gus' LDs, but I need to dispel the myth that he does not speak or is nonverbal. No, he has Nonverbal Learning Disability. Silly name for an LD that means they usually EXCEL verbally. They struggle in nonverbal areas such as visual spatial difficulties, executive functioning needs, many have math LDs, many have fine and gross motor difficulties, often cannot read body language and tone of voice. No one understands this LD.
