They did have this talk, back in the 2000's, when, then, Georgia representative Rob Woodall and radio talk show host Neal Boortz heavily pushed for an all encompassing national retail sales tax, replacing the current major taxes. Nothing came of it then, when the demographic issues were less prohibitive for conservatives, for almost the same reasons nothing will ever come of it now.

The real right wing talk should be "Fuck the Constitution and the system! How do we get what WE want imposed on everyone?"
