lesson learned today ...
I have patiently awaited the arrival of my "vote by mail ballot" ...
Tomorrow is Florida's primary ...
According to the supervisor of elections website, the ballot was mailed on 17 July ...
While looking up the phone number to call the office earlier today, I remembered an email received back in July ...
At the time, I immediately dismissed it as a click bait fishing trap to get me to press the link within ... after all, I've been voting by mail in every election (local, state, and federal) since 2020 ... and the county had never emailed me before...
I searched past emails and found it ...
Turns out Florida now emails the ballot to you, instead of snail mailing it ...
🤯😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
Imagine all the voters who dismissed and/or ignored it just like I did!
Grrrrrrr ... this feels VERY intentional ....
suddenly vote by mail means you must have the ability to download your ballot online, print it ❗️ and mail it in with your own envelope .... in time for it to be received no later than 7 pm the day of the vote!
Tomorrow will be a busy day, printing it from work then rushing downtown to get it to the supervisor of elections office in time!
I feel so stupid for ignoring that email ... and have to believe I won't be the only one ... how many will never figure this out? Especially come November (not that Florida will be of any consequence, but still!) 🤨😡😠🤬
