    Apple can force companies to change their policies on non-Apple platforms by threatening to take away access to Apple platforms if they don't. They have done this repeatedly in the past and I don't think I've ever seen a meaningful response from an antitrust regulator

      @mcc not only that, but this change has prompted Patreon to decide to switch EVERYONE to monthly subscription billing I do biweekly manual billing and have done so from the start many years ago; now I have ~1 year to switch everyone to one monthly charge, which will result in my income dropping to 50% until each patron manually opts into the new tiers my Patreon has already been dropping steadily each month, I super did not need this, and I'm betting neither did a lot of other people
