This headline is a lie too. Tiktok/ByteDance hired former CIA people over a year ago into moderation positions (like it literally has them going from the CIA to Tiktok on their LinkedIn profiles). The spooks already have some control over Tiktok. The whole ban was likely due to lobbying from Meta/Alphabet due to loss of ad revenue.
