I also disagree with this. Sometimes you actually create a social network account for the purpose of broadcasting something, like posting pictures you've drawn, not for social interactions. I remember a friend of mine complaining that the artists he followed on xitter used to post a lot of personal and political stuff, which was annoying because he only followed them to see pictures.
