i thought about this https://youtube.com/watch?v=x3jMKeg9S-s for a while. the entire argument of a third party profiting of running a server is stupid. if running said server was still profitable, the games company wouldn't stop running it, unless they wanted to push players into buying their next game. also, why would anybody pay for access a third party owned server, if they could just host the server themselves? that doesn't make any sense.

It's also funny, that Thor calls this developer abuse. This guy is CEO of a game studio with profit interest. Profit in a capitalist economy can from the exploitative relationship between the employer and the employee. There is no none abusive profit oriented game development. That's not saying the employer is evil. That's just the nature of things. I'm sure Thor knows this, which is why he advocates against the initiative. He sees future profits threatened.
