Summer and I left her pal outside in the shade while we came in the house to fold laundry.
For a few minutes, I sat down on the floor so we could have an, eye to eye, serious chat.
I explained that her pal is going to a doctor appointment at the VA tomorrow morning, and then he will meet with the field rep for our congressman.
I told her how I have tried everything to meet the VA requirements in filing for his permanent 100% disability but I had to tell him so far I have failed.
So he decided as a last resort he would go to ask for help in person. I know talking about his medical issues isn't easy for him.
I told her that I don't believe disabled veterans should have to justify their pain and suffering over and over.
Summer says all she can do is offer love and support.
I guess that's all any of us can do.
