I spent a large part of my childhood in a small Southwestern Ohio town where Black folks were raised on Black family farms and often spent weekends and holidays on the farm with their "Country Cousins".
My cousin Vernon's family able to keep their farm, but almost all the families I knew lost theirs, and white folks laughed in their faces, openly claimed it was because Black Farmers were lazy, didn't know how to run a farm, and were bad at business.
