The reason for this is because I don't believe in convincing him *then and there.* I tell him to go touch grass - my views are based on what I have seen, and I think that people who actually go into the world will agree with me on most things.

"Well, why don't you try talking to a few?"
"I don't see why we should believe in God."
"Just hang back and he'll come to you eventually."
Easy. You just have to see where he is in his life, and it's largely a position of inexperience. He's a smart kid, but he's also a kid. Ten years down the line he'll pick up enough clues that he'll be right back here along with us - just point him in the right direction and he'll get here on his own.
