One thing it seems hard for US media to accept is that sometimes asking candidates the questions that should obviously be asked may mean that, for a time, you are "meaner" to one party than the other. They seem to think that being fair means being equally nice.

Harris should be asked tough questions too. It's just there is objectively less that she needs to be asked about.

They will nonetheless try to be "just as mean" ... "for balence"
