Frankly - the best pieces come from those in academia who run it as a side-hustle - to inform the public about their field, so I wouldn't exactly miss a press that's mostly not capable of doing it or worse - twisting it around so that we get it wrong, especially since it was their choice to kill themselfes and their market for reliably processing and spreading information.
