@J12t @debs Public infrastructure initiatives actually have a very good history, though maybe not in Santa Clara. Roads, water and sewage, electricity and telephony were all public infrastructure initiatives here, and all deeply successful. In the early days of the internet we also had widely popular community access points across our country.

Where public investment tends to be less successful is where there are private sector business interests actively lobbying and blocking it.
