I met someone last night who is an artist (gonna remain super vague about which kind) whose work I really admire. He’s exceptional, and he had the status of ‘famous person’ to me so I was nervous about meeting him. But we hung out and swapped stories about making money off art and v quickly he was like ‘omg I can’t believe you get to do your art full time.’ It absolutely shocked me that this person at the top of their game only barely covers their rent, no bills.
