That said, I strongly believe a pocket knife is the sort of thing that seems unnecessary until you have one, and then it becomes something you reach for reflexively. Say I'm trying to open a bag of dog food and it’s refusing to tear. I *could* brute force it, or bite the corner to get it started. But instead, I’ll get my knife and cut it.
