I don't want to shame you - well, most of you, anyway. But the #OccupyMastodonForHarris thing has a merit in pointing out the blatant classicism the true hashtag actually is.
If you have money to spare and want to actually help people out, you're free to donate it to the political party you believe in - despite the fact it doesn't really change anything and only perpetuates the shitty gambling that is a dual-party system in the US. It's not a democracy, it never was a democracy and if you're telling people asking for funds to live they don't care in democracy, you're just wrong and come off as an asshole.
Because when you write stuff like that:
"I don't care. Im not giving money to any aggressive randoms who do not appear to believe in democracy. Just donated a few more dollars. For us. Harris."

It really shows, that you don't care about people actually needing funds for living and actively begging in order to stay alive. And I find that truly despicable.
The fraction of your donation that's smaller than a quarter of a tear in literal oceans is enough to help somebody turn their life around. And I mean it.
