I think the gutsiest part of the whole Olympic ceremony was not the "Last Supper" or not even the naked Philippe Katerine painted in blue (google him.)
I think it was the part with the beheaded Marie-Antoinettes, providing that Macron had a bunch of royals as guests of honor sitting next to him.
Also, I'm afraid many foreigners are missing an important piece of context for that part. The heavy metal band (called Gojira) and the beheaded Marie-Antoinettes were at the Conciergerie.
This building was the Royal Palace of France between the 11th and 14th Centuries (before moving to the Louvre and eventually Versailles). But it gets better. The Conciergerie was turned into a prison during the Revolution (because the Revolutionaries were cool like this) and it's the prison where... Marie-Antoinette spent her last days before being sent to the Guillotine, place de la Concorde (yes, the guillotine was where the obelisk stands nowadays).
