People keep shilling rust for "security", but also love to not mention that the rust "bootstrap" process consists of starting from a rust compiler written in C++ and then downloading every single version of rust in series (which requires >170GB of drive space and countless hours of compiling) while hoping that nobody managed to slip anything dodgy into every single rust version.
