The CrowdSource fuckup is a symptom of an extremely dangerous vulnerablability, a much more systemic problem.
343 firefighters and 171 police died on 9/11/2001 because of a poorly designed technological mess of a radio communications system. The changes to supposedly address these vulnerabilitues since then have increased potential points of failure, complexity, and reliance on technology, while limiting flexibility.
Relying on the internet makes catastrophic failure a certainty.
