however, it does not. it runs Horizon, an OS developed internally at Nintendo, which was first used on the 3DS. Horizon is a cooperatively-multitasked microkernel operating system, and the microkernel servers providing network functionality use some code from FreeBSD's network stack. the microkernel servers providing the compositor and related graphics functions are partly derived from Android in that a heavily modified version of SurfaceFlinger is used, alongside a microkernel server that emulates part of a Unix-like /dev VFS for running the Nvidia proprietary drivers
