My pet peeve: maps that claim to present some kind of disparity by mapping some stat onto territories, while completely ignoring the ways these stats correlate with population and/or infrastructure.

(e.g. you could do a map that says "1% of the world produces 99% of electricity" because all the power plants don't take up that much space on their own)
