That said, LB.1 has two mutations in common with its fellow FLiRT variant, and second-guess vaccine target, KP.2, such that LB.1, like KP.3, is only two steps removed from KP.2.
However, in a scenario where, as an example, a non-KP SLip lineage picked up S:Q493E, joining KP.3 as another FLuQE, then JN.1, not KP.2, would be the closer vaccine target.
