It's better to spend time on things that affects you directly, instead of things that you cannot do much about at all. Thinking about things does not fix them, so why waste time on it? Especially politics on the other side of the planet.
If it's not happening where I am (at our house, at our street etc) then I do no care at all, and try to not think about it at all. Makes things much better.
