I heard the author of a book called Strong Men say on the radio that abstracts things like "we will lose our democracy" don't resound with most voters (sad state of affairs that is , but I'll leave it for now) and the democrats should zero in on what affects the voters directly---women's rights, reproductive rights, the right of kids to feel safe in school and have books available to them, healthcare...specific things that can connect voters to the candidate.
I think her point was valid.
