True story: When Jackson was a federal judge, a criminal defendant failed to show up for trial, so Jackson ordered the Marshals to apprehend him and bring him to the court. They refused because they were scared of the defendant, who was known for being really violent. So Jackson then went and grabbed his gun and his coat and apprehended the guy himself.
