We need to get over this, because we need some data to help us make Linux a more viable alternative for more people faster, with the limited resources we have! The alternative is that everyone uses Windows/Mac and gets totally surveiled. The demand to keep Linux 100% pure from any kind of anonymous data collection just makes more people more surveiled.
