@dvoid Personally I prefer skill-oriented systems, and systems where attribute sets are custom-made for a given game. Currently replaying Stardew Valley, which has things like Farming, Mining and Fishing, which in turn make perfect sense for this particular game.
D&D is not well-tailored in this sense. You end up with characters who e.g. aren't very wise, but have high "wisdom" because it's necessary for their skills to work.
