Biden and the Democrats were clearly elected in 2020 with a mandate, and that mandate was to stop fascism. They interpreted this mandate as proof that people wanted weak-willed liberal centrism and attempts to unify the country. Hence, our current fucking situation.

Has Biden been as disastrous as a second Trump term? Not at all. But he and the Democratic establishment patently refuse to acknowledge the crisis we're currently in, or to treat anything as serious. It's not good enough to do some okay things. It's not fucking good enough.

Scolding people for purity politics when they are deeply concerned that the opposition to fascism doesn't actually believe that they're the opposition to fascism is a bad idea. Scolding people for being concerned about all the fascism-lite that the current administration keeps doing is not a good idea. Telling people they're better off now than they were four years ago when the bar for "better" is buried a mile deep is not a good idea.

I am begging, pleading with you to do better. I don't want Trump to win. I want the Democrats to do better.
