Honestly Sonic 1 had great level design much better than 2 tbh

And the spin dash kinda sucks too

the level design is very deliberate it's smooth with skillfull play but has powerups to make annoying hard portions a breeze too, it somehows is challenging and fair while still being beginner friendly

Even the slow zones don't bother my adhd head and so doesn't dying
