In a vacuum, completely out of context, it's fine - it tells a story clearly and concisely without needing any dialogue, purely through visuals. But the thing is, it comes out of fucking nowhere in a complete joke of an infamously bad low-brow comedy webcomic, ironically one famed for extreme wordiness despite loss's excellent use of show-don't-tell. It feels completely out of place on almost every level, which is why it's so funny. Not only that, but the post-loss comics were absurd as well, like showing Ethan grieving over a baby-sized xbox controller. The whole thing is just handled so clumsily and so poorly that even what it does right makes it feel even more out of place.
