    @Rasterman @85f02109a28864e4713d3f972ab66a @Alice @blockbot @ins0mniak Actually, while I'm here, I should probably not just drop the screenshot without dropping the fonts, maybe someone comes across the thread and is interested in them.

    If you wanna use fixedsys, there are TTFs; I initially got it from https://github.com/kika/fixedsys and then removed all the stupid ligatures, that's in the "fixedsysp.tgz" along with X11 PCF fonts (bitmap fonts render faster and look better, but they only work on X11 and most gtk/qt stuff only supports TTFs/OTFs). The PCF fonts I actually got by using FontForge to extract the original bitmap from FIXEDSYS.FON from Windows 3.1, so they came out cleaner.
