they're really pushing this "renting is better than buying" idea

it should be obvious that if you're renting a property comparable to what you would buy, you're paying for all this shit too and then some more so the landlord makes a profit. the only difference is you don't have to write a big check all at once for a repair, which is a poor trade for not building equity in the property
