I think the genocide in Gaza gave older white liberals an opportunity to openly express racist hatred in a way where they could still tell themselves they're nice, decent people.

But really, it served to drop a thin layer of lies that has hidden the same brutal hatred which also exists in the hearts of their white conservative cousins. Only their conservative cousins have been more honest and open about their evil.
