She admits in the interview that she had put more than 12,000 miles on the car, so it wasn't under warranty. She doesn't actually own the car until it's paid off and she has a title, the car lot owns the car. My guess is they sold it for some kind of storage fee for leaving the car at the car lot. Part of this story is missing as to why she didn't pick the car up, when they told her they weren't going to fix it.
