I guess you mean "guter Mensch" literally, i.e. "good person," right?

Because "Gutmensch" is nowadays used only in an ironic/sarcastic or even pejorative way, often in conjunction with political correctness. Most often, it is used to degrade a political opponent.

I would not actively use the term. A lot of German people still think it is a Nazi term, a notion that was debunked only about a decade ago [12].
