Thomas@nix I've been doing that for 20 years at home: exclusively FOSS software. A revelation was KiCad with FreeCad for electronics design: by learning to use it I could really acquire new skills. There is also FOSS and "Not-so-FOSS": I've moved from Ubuntu to Debian. Other than that I also produce or help produce some FOSS, both hobby and commercially. FOSS creates value to society.
