i myself built a computer for gaming last year. half of the components are used from ebay. the whole built cost me around 550euros. it has an amd tyzen 3600xt CPU (xt, because it was cheaper on ebay, lol), and it can play any game that i want to play. If i need a more powerful processor, amd provides me plenty of options, that will be available on the used market. currently i consider the 5700x3d or 5800xt my prefered future upgrade. both are released after techtubers announced am4 dead.
i also built a pc for my gf, that is slightly less powerful. budget wise she is in a similar situation. i think there are many gamers out there, who cannot afford a mb upgrade within the next 1 or 2 years. we just skip am5, do low cost upgrades, keep gaming and save money for what comes after am5
