If you have a Macintosh and an iPhone, you can use your iPhone as a webcam, and it looks ridiculously good. Like, in absolute terms, not even just in comparison to the built in laptop camera.

My facial hair didn't look as bad as I thought and the camera makes me look even better. A worse camera doesn't hide your imperfections, it just makes you look worse overall than a high quality camera.
