i watched veritasium's videos on color and how jumping spiders perceive color

a lot of the information i already knew except for HOW the spiders perceived wavelengths and how bugs have even evolved their own colors to create optical illusions

and not like, optical illusions like something's a different color or something looks curved

like straight-up illusions that make the prey look smaller/bigger, body always slightly to the left/right, and so on

which really inspires my sci-fi tingles

imagine a bug superhero whose ability is to be able to generate illusions through shifting his own body's color

i'd also have the idea of a omni-sensitive color retina which is receptive to all colors of light, and the hypothetical that, would someone be able to see if someone's sick because it's possible for the sick to emit certain frequencies of light?
