Kasey StrubeWhy is selling stuff on Facebook Marketplace such a den of scum and villainy? Any time I do it, I get at least a couple messages from fake accounts. I’ve heard many personal stories of people who have had been scammed or had a scam attempted against their listing. Wonder if there could be a way the #fediverse could handle this? I feel like a new AP service, where you federate only with instances that you trust their user vetting process could handle it. Only problem is limited adoption keeping the potential market small.
