2) Even if it was that wouldn't guarantee a cure. What they were doing was research on new viruses -- they were looking for covid, but never found it. Merely being in possession of covid wouldn't have been enough to have already found a cure -- that took probably a trillion dollars of R&D to get even to the level of safety we have today.
3) the vaccine, although very important and helps reduce severity of disease, and death and people should get it -- is not some kind of a full cure. As evidenced by the fact that there are still vaxxed people getting sick and dying, to this day, almost 4 years later. So even if they had this "cure" to start with...it *still* is evolving around it, so this doesn't even make sense even if you assume it's true
