@kaia We have very strict legal code for involuntary care. A patient has to be a danger to himself or others, and/or it must be asserted that without proper care his/her health would worsen remarkably.

There are some very metaphysical questions to be asked about what is the limit of human functionality, and that's where the occupational therapist type person comes to help.
