This is relevant because it reveals a general principle about human conflict that applies to virtually all walks of life. It doesn't mean two sides are equal or should share the same amount of blame, but in the overwhelming number of cases you'll find each at fault, to differing degrees, for inciting and antagonizing the other.
In the Israel/Palestine conflict, both are perpetrators of their own respective crimes. Most of them are retaliation for an earlier attack on their side, which itself was a retaliation for an attack on the other side, which was a retaliation etc. etc. ad infinitum. They both have lots that deserves blame, for every escalation and every bit of jingoism and every dehumanizing word about the other side, you could go on forever. It's absolutely fair to say one side is worse, but any argument to that effect will probably be driven largely by which side you're biased towards/against and which side's propaganda you're more receptive to. Any casual observer's take on the matter ultimately isn't worth much, but I can still respect it if it's consistent with their moral compass and they take a principled stance to condemn violence.
