The Cobbler. One of Scotland's most distinctive mountains, and only an hour's drive from Glasgow. Reaching the summit plateau is the easy bit. From there, you have to squeeze through a small arch before working your way along narrow ledge on a stone spire which hangs over a precipitous drop before scrambling the final few metres to the very top. This is a move called Threading the Needle and it's not for the fainted-hearted. Most just settle for watching others attempt it!
