- Embed this notice@kaia We used to live under the assumption that people were in couples and one stayed home or worked part time, making it so small shopkeeps could keep "business hours" and not have to opt out of society in order to stay open. That went away and now they haven't adjusted.
On the other end of the spectrum, you get the US, where shops are expected to be open 13 hours a day, 7 days a week, and advertise being the people open on Christmas like it's a good thing.
