Video of officers with NYPD throwing protestors down concrete steps are emerging this morning. If a protestor threw a cop down concrete steps, they would be charged with felony assault or attempted murder, guaranteed. I’m not here to debate the optics of occupying the admin building at Columbia (I do think it is stupid). I’m here to say that officers responding in a blatantly unsafe fashion once again points to the “cops are there to protect property, not people” stereotype.
