One of my pet peeves is how the US doesn't seem to hold accountable those who provide guns used in crimes. I think that--at the least--they should be barred from ever possessing firearms, and charged as accessories or co-conspirators.
For example, the person who "straw man" purchased two shotguns and a rifle used in the Columbine massacre was "not charged". The purchase was a crime, which obviously resulted in many deaths. That person should have been made an example of, and--in my opinion--should spend life in prison.

As another example, the gun used to kill Kate Steinle was left unsecured in a car by a park ranger. There's another who should never be allowed to possess firearms, and should have spent significant time in prison for leaving the gun unsecured, resulting in death. As far as I can tell, that ranger was not charged, but instead was promoted five months later.
