I've been reading a book about Viking Age archeology (Cat Jarman's "River Kings") that mentions game pieces found with warrior and boat burials and, flashforward a millennium, give or take a few centuries, I've been playing hnefatafl, aka Viking chess, on three apps, which has been interfering with my backgammon and non-Viking chess studies.
