His GDC talk about it is really interesting, he got his very own way to construct a story (in which the story itself is secondary, most important to him is inducing strong emotions in the player). I'm currently trying - while becoming more mentally healthy, lol - to adapt this technique into my writing style. I was really good in storytelling myself during my youth according to others, hopefully I can get back there in the future.
